Sir,
At the outset, I would like to congratulate the whole editorial team of Journal of Medical Evidence (JME) on the launch of volume 1, issue 1. Being an official publication of one of the most premier institutes of India, AIIMS Rishikesh, it will definitely maintain cutting-edge research standards and provide researchers with a platform to showcase their research. Continuous advances in medical knowledge can help us achieve our goal of a healthier world. It can only be achieved after extensive research. Medical research lays the foundation of medical education.
JME is an open-access online journal and is published by Wolters Kluwer. Copyrights are retained by authors, and this allows them to share their research work. The Journal aims to address current issues which are original, relevant and important. The Journal also aims to promote evidence-based medicine and publish articles which will help in improving healthcare. Evidence-based medicine will immensely boost the use of machine learning and artificial intelligence. JME will prove an ideal platform for inquisitive minds who want to innovate and improve healthcare. It supports novel ideas to improve the existing infrastructure and improve healthcare facilities in rural India.
The controversies and opinion section will help deal with debatable topics. It will help readers visualise both sides of the coin. The pro/con facts will help readers understand the topic in depth and help identify the knowledge gaps.
The students' section is particularly impressive. It will help young minds to express themselves and provide us with their viewpoint. It will help us understand Gen X better and improve the existing medical education. This platform will help students in understanding research quite early in their foundation days. It will help them to utilise correct methodology, understand ethics and widen their knowledge domain.
The manuscripts have an attractive format. JME will contribute in improving the practice of healthcare in rural and small towns in India and abroad. Currently, it will be published thrice a year.
I am hopeful that JME will provide workable and sustainable solutions to improve overall healthcare. I highly recommend scholars to read and enlighten themselves with the current knowledge by regularly contributing and becoming a part of JME.
