Sir,

The whole Editorial team of the Journal of Medical Evidence (JME) deserves a big applause for bringing out much awaited official publication of AIIMS Rishikesh, one of the most premier institutes of India. Everybody's eyes are fixed at the newborn star in the field of scientific literature, and the first question arising in everyone's mind will be, if the topics published or considered in the very first edition justify a new more scientific journal? The answer is YES! The reasons for its realisation are numerous, the main being its diversified published articles. A deep and thorough journey through the published article shows its unique aim to address current issues that are original, relevant and important.

The main strength of JME is probably its unbiased peer-review policy, including internal review by section editors and external reviewers, experts on the topic. Since JME is an open-access online journal published by Wolters Kluwer, it will certainly fetch a good chunk of readers, praisers and castigators. The journal aims to address current issues that are original, relevant and important to the ever-expanding medical society. Journal also aims to promote evidence-based medicine and publish articles that will help in improving health care.

At present, JME is born as a minnow but ready to take on with the big beasts of the publishing ocean with a clear roar because of its quality and unique features. The Student's Section and controversies are few highlights of this journal that makes it a distinct star. This will surely attract online visitors in large numbers who are usually seeking specific information or a particular article that they have discovered via a web search. Reading such unique articles on journal's website has the potential to convert them into regular readers. The online world is moving rapidly in terms of publication of research, so the next goal of journal should be major on editorials, essays and reviews along with original research work.

In the long journey, mission of the journal should be to advance knowledge and improve the practice of medicine by educating practitioners, inspiring scholars, students with novel, relevant and high-quality research work, meta-analysis, case series, informative topic reviews and well-argued commentaries.

I hope JME will prove an ideal platform for the inquisitive minds who want to innovate and improve healthcare.
